繁华不负少年，和融永驻心间——在中美青少年交流会上的发言

Distinguished guests, fellow students and faculty:

Good evening! I'm Pan Xingchen from Shanghai Foreign Language School Affiliated to SISU. I am so honored to give a speech at the closing ceremony of this “Shared Journey of Friendship”.

尊敬的老师，亲爱的同学们，大家晚上好！

我是上海外国语大学附属外国语学校的潘星辰。非常荣幸可以作为中国学生代表在“青春同行”中美青少年友好交流会结营仪式上发言。

I’d like to share something interesting with you. I was the host of the welcoming ceremony yesterday in our school. But for some moments, I wasn't sure if it was us welcoming you, or you welcoming us. Because you were so cheerful and applauded so warmly after every remark. It really cleared away our nervousness and transformed it into excitement. Our bonds began to shape as we experienced the splendor of Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage, including Taiji, Tie-Dyeing and other activities.

说实话，作为昨天上外附中开幕仪式的主持人，我有时其实有些恍惚，到底是你们在欢迎我们，还是我们在欢迎你们呀！你们的欢呼太热情了，让我们的紧张感烟消云散，转化为无限期待。随着非物质文化遗产课程的循序渐进，我们在打太极、做扎染、做翻花的过程中开始拉进距离。

Deeper connections started to build during the cruise on the Huangpu River. Through conversations with brilliant students from Stadium High School like Evelyn and Lucy, it gradually dawned on me that we are of no difference. We worry about the same things, such as grades, socializing, and relationships. And we crave the same things, to grow up, to make friends and to enjoy our youth.

更深的友谊是在浦江游轮上发展出来的，通过和Evelyn与Lucy这样来自体育场高中可爱的姐姐们的谈话，我逐渐意识到我们其实根本没有什么不同。我们担心一样的事情，成绩、社交、人际。我们所渴望的也大致相同，想长大，想交朋友，想享受青春的美好。

We chatted in English and we ate Chinese food, we exchanged gifts and we took group photos. We all say we cherish each other and we hope our friendship today could be long-lasting and further enhance the bilateral ties between our two countries in the future.  

我们用英语沟通，吃中国兰州拉面。我们交换礼物，互留合照。我们珍惜彼此的相遇，也希望我们的友谊可以地久天长，为中美友好关系添砖加瓦。

Thank you for lighting up our mid-summer night’s dream and we really want to meet you again. Maybe very soon in our or your schools, or maybe as business partners or co-workers in the far future. At that time, let’s smile at each other and share the precious memories of this unique summer.

感谢你们点亮我们的仲夏夜之梦。我们希望在未来，可以再次见到你们。也许是在你们或者我们的学校，又或许是作为未来商业伙伴或工作伙伴。届时，让我们一起笑谈当年明月，一品繁华人生。

To our lasting friendship! To China and the United States! Wish you all a safe journey home!

祝我们的友谊长存！也希望你们归途一路平安。
